Joint Danube Survey 5 Scheduled to Launch 1st July
The Joint Danube Survey 5 (JDS5), the world’s most comprehensive investigative surface-water monitoring effort, will officially kick off on 1 July 2025 in Vienna. This large-scale scientific survey will bring together experts from 14 countries to assess the health of the Danube River and its major tributaries.
Annual Bathing Water Report Published: Danube Countries at Top of Ranking
The new Bathing Water Report published at the beginning of June by the European Environment Agency (EEA) and the European Commission (EC) reveals that the quality of Europe’s bathing waters has improved dramatically in recent decades. According to European Union standards that classify the waters as “excellent”, “good”, “sufficient” or “poor”, almost 85% of the European bathing sites now ranks as “excellent”.
ICPDR Prepares for First Fully Online Public Consultation Process
Following the ICPDR's Ordinary Meeting on 15th & 16th December 2020, the updates to the Danube River Basin Management Plan (DRBMP) and Danube Flood Risk Management Plan (DFRMP) scheduled for 2021 are continuing.

Vienna, 20 Dec 2019. The ICPDR provides an interim overview on Significant Water Management Issues (SWMIs) in the Danube River Basin District for the 3rd Danube River Basin Management Plan (3rd DRBMP) and invites the public to comment on this document until June 2020.
Public consultation concludes with strong feedback
Danube Basin, 23 July 2015. For over six months, stakeholders of the Danube were called to share their views on the draft management plans for the Danube River Basin. As of 22 July, the public consultation phase convened with strong feedback received through different channels.
Voice of the Danube: Stakeholders have expressed their views
Zagreb, 3 July 2015. Today, the ICPDR Stakeholder Conference “Voice of the Danube” has convened in the Croatian capital. Over 80 stakeholders from a broad range of backgrounds stood the heat and expressed their views on the draft management plans for the Danube River.

JDS3 Results published
Vienna, 22 March 2015. Just in time for this year's World Water Day, the Joint Danube Survey 3 Final Scientific Report was published today.

JDS3 Final Scientific Report available
Vienna, 22 March 2015. The Joint Danube Survey 3 (JDS3) was the world’s biggest river research expedition in 2013. Its results are now available in a comprehensive report, which can be downloaded from this website.
