(Press Release) VIENNA, 31 January – Residence of His Excellency the Ambassador of Germany to The Permanent Mission of the Federal Republic of Germany to the United Nations Vienna and to other International Organizations. As Hungary takes over the annual Presidency of the International Commission for the Protection of the Danube River (ICPDR) today, incoming President Péter Kovács has set the main priorities for his term: finding ways to support the activities of the ICPDR, strengthening water security in the Danube Basin, implementing the Water Framework Directive (WFD) and the Flood Directive (FD), as well as further strengthening the integrated approach of ICPDR and the basin-wide exchange of experiences.

VIENNA, 22 March 2018 (International Commission for the Protection of the Danube River) – This year’s World Water Day focuses on nature based solutions (NBS) related to three major themes: water availability and supply, water quality and risk management.

A video showing highlights from 10 years of the international Danube Art Master competition. Premiered at the 3rd ICPDR Ministerial Meeting, it put the spotlight on the youth of the Danube Basin to address the ministers with their wishes for the Danube's future.

A video clip produced to call stakeholder to action for the public consultation on the Danube River Basin Management Plan Update 2015 and the first Danube Flood Risk Management Plan.

In 2014, the ICPDR Video Clip was supplemented with subtitles in order to make it more accessible to non-English speaking audiences in some ICPDR countries. Here, you can watch the clips with German, Romanian and Ukrainian sub-titles.

Using footage filmed for the award-winning documentary, the ICPDR has produced a film clip that showcases the beauty and diversity of the Danube River. The film clip also demonstrates the work of the Danube countries through the ICPDR.

"The Danube - Europe's Amazon" is a 2012 documentary in two parts that portrays the Danube's journey from the Black Forest to the Black Sea. The ICPDR acted as a co-producer in this project. Here you can see the trailer.
