On 18 October 2022, the Central and Eastern Europe WWF participated in a side event on “Achieving Functional Biodiversity in the Danube-Carpathian Region by Mainstreaming Ecological Connectivity – how to make it happen” during the 11th EUSDR Annual Forum 2022. The annual forum, which took place in a hybrid format, was jointly organized by the Ukrainian EUSDR Presidency, the former Slovak EUSDR Presidency, the European Commission, and the Danube Strategy Point, with the financial support of the Danube Transnational Programme.

On 20th May 2022, the ICPDR along with other UN-based organizations, including CTBTO, IAEA, IOM, UNIDO, UNODA and UNODC, participated in this year’s “Long Night of Research” (“Lange Nacht der Forschung”) Austria’s biggest science event for the public.

VIENNA, 22 March – World Water Day 2022 is focusing on groundwater and making the invisible visible.

Budapest, 8-11 October 2013. The Budapest Water Summit will be held in the Hungarian capital between 8 and 11 October 2013. The summit, organised by the Hungarian government in cooperation with the UN System and the World Water Council, will be one of the major events of the year relating to water and sanitation.

Bucharest, 28/29 October 2013. The Second Annual Forum of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region (EUSDR), jointly organised between the Government of Romania and the European Commission, will take place at the International Conference Centre/Palace of the Parliament in Bucharest, Romania, on 28-29 October 2013.

Vienna, 12 September 2013. In cooperation with ICPDR and Coca-Cola Europe, the International RiverFoundation has awarded the inaugural IRF European Riverprize to the River Rhine. The award is endowed with 25,000 EUR and additional support of twinning activities.

Sava Basin, 1 June 2013. The International Sava Day is celebrated today in the Sava sub-basin, opening June as the "month of rivers". Events will be organised in all countries of the Sava Basin and will range from cycling tours to the Sava Youth Parliament and other educational events.

Danube Basin, 22 May 2013. With approximately 5000 native animal and 2000 plant species, the Danube River Basin is an important element in preserving biodiversity in Europe. To improve this further, educational activities are key. The Danubeparks network is now launching a new initiative in this field.

Earth, 22 April 2013. „Earth Day“ is celebrated all around the World, including many places in the Danube River Basin. Highlighting the responsibility that all people share for the well-being of our planet, many events are also dedicated to the condition of water. The Serbian “Supernatural Festival” demonstrated this.

Danube Basin, 20 March 2013. World Water Day 2013 is an occasion to celebrate achievements, but also to look at challenges in the Danube River Basin and beyond, says ICPDR President Ermina Salkičević-Dizdarević.
